Don Tyson School of Innovation is proud to announce that three outstanding young men have been accepted into the United States Service Academies following their graduation this May. This remarkable achievement reflects their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving our country.

Charles Quayle has been accepted into the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, where he plans to study electrical engineering. Charles is a member of the robotics team, NHS, and will be a highest honors graduate this upcoming May. Charles's dedication to pursuing a career in the maritime industry is not merely a career choice; it's a calling deeply rooted in his family's tradition of serving the nation. We are so proud of Charles for his commitment to serving our country.

Joseph Rouse has been accepted into the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he plans to study mechanical engineering. Joseph enjoys competitive rock climbing and has participated in the American Ninja Warrior television show twice! His leadership extends beyond the classroom, embodying the spirit of collaboration and innovation that the U.S. Air Force Academy values. Thank you for your service and commitment to our country.

Vaughn Fields has been accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy, where he plans to study either civil or mechanical engineering. Vaughn is a member of the NHS, DTSOI band, and enjoys playing rugby in his free time. The aspiration to attend a military academy is not just a dream but a calling, one rooted in a genuine desire to contribute to something greater than himself. We are so proud of you and thank you for your service and commitment to our country.

We proudly celebrate Vaughn Fields, Joseph Rouse, and Charles Quayle for their hard work and perseverance. We look forward to the incredible impact they will make as they take this next step in their journey of service and leadership. Congratulations to these outstanding young men. You're invited to the Phoenix Dance Academy's first ever performance at the NWA Naturals Game! Anyone is invited, tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the DTSOI website. We'd love to have a great crowd there to cheer on our dancers!

The DTSOI Rising Phoenix Theatre Booster Club will be holding a fundraiser at Arvest Ballpark on April 12th. Get tickets for half price and see Theatre students perform the classic Abbott and Costello "Who's on First" skit. Proceeds to benefit the Theatre program. All kids who attend get to run the bases after the game!

We are SO excited for our 2nd year of the Phoenix Flair Kids Dance Clinic! This year participants will get to PERFORM in our Dance Through Time Recital! Any K-5th grade student is welcome, scan the QR code to access the form or reach out to Mrs. Anderson!

We are incredibly proud to share that four DTSOI choirs performed for a panel of judges, showcasing prepared pieces and completing a sight-reading component—and the results were outstanding!

-All four choirs earned superior ratings from every judge.
-Our high school Chamber Choir even received a perfect score of 100 from one judge!

These marks are among the highest ever achieved by DTSOI choirs, and we couldn’t be more proud of our talented students and their dedication to excellence.

DTSOI 6th and 7th grade students who earned the Kindness Award enjoyed “Pizza with the Principals” and counselors! Congratulations to these outstanding students for making kindness a priority.

Our 6th-grade ELA students enjoyed a “Florin Fair” hosted by 9th graders after reading The Princess Bride. Mrs. Young brought a Renaissance-style experience to life, and the weather was perfect. We love students learning from and with each other!

DTSOI Department of Theatre presents The Little Prince

Yesterday, 1616Y, one of the Phoenix Robotics teams, won the Arkansas State Championship and earned a spot to compete at this year's world championship in St. Louis in April.

1616Y is currently ranked in the top 10 in the world by multiple metrics and has achieved an incredible 71-1 record on the year, with their only loss in the finals at their first local tournament of the season.

Bill Zima from Marzano Academies toured our campus, observed classrooms, and interviewed students and teachers to learn more about our standards-based practices in action.

He shared how impressed he was with our strong instructional practices, positive school culture, and, most importantly, our incredible students.

Eight DTSOI middle school students competed at the NWA regional MathCounts competition at the Bell Engineering Building on the University of Arkansas campus in February. The students competed in individual and team competitions. The DTSOI team placed 6th out of 15 teams in the competition. Team members include: 8th grader Nathan Udouj, 8th grader Dexter Gibson, 7th grader Felix Nguyen, and 6th grader Atticus Evans. The team is qualified to compete at the state competition in Little Rock on Friday, March 6, 2026. Felix Nguyen earned top scorer for the team. Individual competitors included Gianna Sanchez, Ellie Azari, Riyan Patel, and Emilia Brown.
