Springdale Public Schools has named Aurelian Sennett as the incoming assistant principal of Hellstern Middle School.

“I feel incredibly happy and excited to serve the students and staff at Hellstern Middle School,” Sennett said. “It’s an honor to join such a dedicated team, and I’m truly looking forward to the year ahead. I’m ready to hit the ground running and can’t wait to meet everyone.”

Sennett is transitioning from Don Tyson School of Innovation, where he served as an instructional facilitator for one year and then an assistant principal for six years. He’s worked more than 12 years as an educator, eight of which with Springdale Public Schools.

“I’m thrilled to see Mr. Aurelian Sennett step into the role of assistant principal at Hellstern Middle School,” said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent. “His extensive expertise in standards, learning progressions and instructional practices will be a valuable asset in advancing student achievement and supporting the school’s continued growth.”

Sennett said he hopes to build on the strong foundation and positive momentum already established by the Hellstern Middle School team.

“I recognize the great work that has been done, and my goal is to honor that by helping sustain a culture of excellence and collaboration,” he said. “I also bring with me a range of experiences from my previous role that I believe will help support the school as we take on new initiatives.”

Sennett holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master of Science in Plant, Insect and Microbial Sciences and a Master of Education in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum from the University of Missouri, as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership – Principalship from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Mr. Sennett as a new Hero to Hellstern,” said Dr. Allison Byford, Hellstern principal. “He brings with him so much knowledge, love and passion for middle school, and I know he will make us better.”

Sennett said he’s thankful for the opportunity to serve at the middle school.

“I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Cleveland and our Springdale School District leadership team for this honor and privilege,” he said. “I would also like to say thank you to Dr. Byford and her team at Hellstern for welcoming me and allowing me to be a Hero.”

Sennett said family time is a valued part of his free time, noting his wife and two sons are the most incredible and supportive family anyone could ask for.

“We like to explore the region, play tennis and ride bicycles,” he said. “I also have a wonderful and close group of friends that happen to live right down the street. Our children play together in our front yards as we enjoy Northwest Arkansas sunsets.”

Sennett said he looks forward to contributing to the Hellstern culture as the school’s next assistant principal.

“I'm excited to contribute in ways that both respect what's working and help move the school forward in thoughtful, strategic ways,” he said.
